Sydney Park is a large inner city recreational area in Alexandria. It features a number of ponds and wetlands that attract many animals and birds. This is a view (top) of the pond in the south-east corner of the park. A Little Black Cormorant, also known as a Shag, is seen here sunning its wings (bottom), while its mate enjoys the view from the boardwalk.

I love wetlands! Shag huh? I've never heard that term for a cormorant. Fun to hear the different "Englishes"
A shag on an iron beam doesn't quite sound the same as a shag on the rocks.
You are lucky to have all that water.
Wow!!!! That shag, a nice one too. I was on the Gold coast, and on a private canal. There were shags on the jetties, but they were always too fast for me.
True, Bill. "Like a Shag on a Rock" is such an Aussie expression and always gives the Brits a chuckle because it means something naughty there. :)
wonderful to have a look at your wetlands. Thank you.
Wow, what a treat to have a place like that right in the middle of the city.

Thanks so much!
