The Sydney Water Police has its base at Camerons Cove, in the inner west suburb of Balmain East. It comprises of the Marine Command Area complex and marina. It was built in 2005, replacing facilities in Pyrmont. It has a spectacular backdrop of the Sydney skyline.

So that's where they are now. I remember when they used to be at the Quay (around Campbell's Cove I think). Used to go and look at the boats (and the blokes) at lunchtime.
They have great views, and good boats too.
I'm sure the water police have a busy life because of the huge area they would have to cover in and around Sydney Harbour - a nice tranquil pic!

You wouldn't suffer with sea sickness if you were in the water police.

Ann, it's not a marina open to the public. It's a marina used solely by the water police.
Excellent shot Jim, you've made me think now, I don't really know where our water police are based..will have to investigate.
I never thought about Sydney having water police. In fact, the only place I having ever seen that is in Venice.
