Rookwood, war memorial

This war memorial is located in Rookwood Memorial Gardens, which is part of Rookwood cemetery. This art deco monument in sandstone and granite has been dedicated to "Those who served Australia and the Empire". It features part of the "Ode of Remembrance": They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

very suitable for a war memorial!

My brother in law is buried at Rookwood, so I go there every so often.

Hah! I agree with Joan, but was also expecting the Rookwood location after that excellent tour of Rookwood you took us on a while back.

I have only been to Rookwood once, and had to walk it, so it was a limited excrusion. It is on my list, again.

Sorry to be so late with my visit, but I had to travel away for a couple of days.

That you for participating in "Taphophile Tragics'. I really appreciate the support.
