The Citigroup Centre building is located on Park Street, between George Street and Pitt Street. Built in 2000, it measures 243 metres to the top of the spire and is the tallest skyscraper in Sydney, although Sydney Tower is still the tallest structure. The Citigroup Centre building contains 41 levels of office space and The Galleries, retail space on 4 levels. It also has underground connections to Town Hall railway station and the Queen Victoria Building. The Food Hall on the lower ground level has recently been refurbished and resembles a nightclub rather than a food court, which seems to be the trend lately.

Is this the building above Galleries Victoria? I must have not noticed prior to your photograph, because it emphasises so well what I look for which is interesting repeated geometric shapes in buildings. I will go get me a close up.
I used to bank there J.
Julie, yes it is. They recently renamed Galeries Victoria for some reason and it is now The Galeries.
Nice shot, Jim. Skyscrapers can make very interesting subjects for photography and as Julie says, the repetition can give some interesting results in abstract compositions.
Interesting perspective. Our highest building is probably only about 10 or 12 storeys high
great shot

Good handling of perspective!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Such a great perspective! Love it! Thanks also for stopping by!
A lovely photo!
I wish you a Happy Friday!
Very nice shot perspective.
Awesome shot! Citigroup must have a lot of money ^_^

Great capture of this tall beauty pushing against that blue, blue sky.
Happy Skywatch Friday.
Such a nice architecture shot! It appears your skies are blue now...we had lots of rain when we visited in late November. But we still had a superb time in your beautiful country!
I didn't recognise it at first, either. Guess I've never looked at it from that angle. Haven't seen the food court since the renovation. Have been trying to avoid Kinokunya bookshop but ended up in there the other day and completely lost track of time. Very proud that I didn't buy anything.
Stunning blue sky, I love it!
Neat building, Citigroup seems have skyscarpers all over the world. Great shot.
Carolyn Ford, we've had quite a lot of rain this summer but when the clouds go away you get some stunning blue skies, like we've had this week.
Great perspective, gorgeous blue skies and a great capture for the day as always, Jim! Hope you have a great weekend!

Beautiful photo with a magnificent building and beautiful sky.
Great shot of the bank building--how they've changed.
Nice shot! Happy SWF!
That's an impressive building...and a beautiful blue sky.
That's a nice-looking big building.
This is definitely one impressive skyscraper. Architecturally, it is rather appealing to me. Great shot. genie
A nice, crisp shot.
wow, amazing shot!
I like the building. It seems to have interest, scale and solidity without lots of the irregularities and foolishness that some contemporary architects convince their clients to buy.
Wow, what a beautiful building. I've seem a lot of Sydney through your great blog--thanks. Mickie ;)
very impressive. beautiful shot.
great skywatch! :)
Lovely shot of the building.
Have a great weekend!
