Wolli Creek runs between the southern suburbs of Undercliffe and Wolli Creek and empties into the Cooks River near the suburb of Tempe. These apartments (top) dominate the skyline at Wolli Creek. The bridge (bottom) over Wolli Creek, located a bit further upstream, carries the Southern and Western Suburbs Ocean Outfall Sewer.

Love the contrast in your images. One is lush and serene and the other encroaching urban sprawl.
ReplyDeleteNice shots!
Beautiful color in the creek and river.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clear day it was when you photographed these images. What a wonderful place to rewind after a lousy day at work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images and postcard perfect shots.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how water can make urban skyline sprawl look beautiful! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteI would love to live in one of those apartments overlooking the creek. Such a peaceful place.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a very nice place. I like the foot bridge.
ReplyDeleteLooks very calm and relax.
ReplyDeleteNice place for fishing I think.
Those apartment blocks are just a smidge further south than The Harp, yes? What would be their nearest station? Is that on the Waterfall Line?
ReplyDeleteYes Julie, those apartments are just south of the Irish Harp at Tempe. Wolli Creek railway station is the nearest. It's a junction on the Illawarra-Bondi Junction line and the East Hills-Airport line but not all trains stop there. If you take the Illawarra line, it's between Tempe and Arncliffe.
ReplyDeleteThat must be somewhere near Nannygoat Hill, or am I too far over? You manage to make those atrocities look quite attractive.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann. Not quite as far as Nannygoat Hill. I took these shots from Waterworth Park at Undercliffe and the underpass near Tempe railway station. Not very glamourous spots but the views look alright.
ReplyDeleteNice photos! The footbridge looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteNice footbridge and mangroves, and lovely blue water.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of a lovely place.
ReplyDeleteCame via your comment on watery Wednesday as the link is not working!
Serene and a great place.
ReplyDeleteNice shots.

Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful view of a creek.
ReplyDeleteAlways loved cities with some water running through them - nice shots.
ReplyDeletewhat a fantastic view of a beautiful creek and the buildings.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very rural in the first picture - and then that seems to stop quite suddenly?
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying your pictures but I must say that the 'footbridge' over Wolli Creek is really the South West Sewer which serves the southern suburbs and enters the sea at Long Bay.
