This life preserver ring is located along Sydney Harbour Foreshore Walk at Darling Island Wharf, in the inner west suburb of Pyrmont. The tall buildings in the distance are in North Sydney and the parkland is Barangaroo Reserve in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. A River Fleet ferry and a First Fleet ferry make their way across Sydney Harbour heading into Darling Harbour.

The bridge is 134 metres (440 feet) above sea level at its highest point.
