Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club

The Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club sits on the cliff above Tamarama Beach, in the eastern suburb of Tamarama. The club was established in 1906 and this club house was built in 1939 in the art deco style, to replace the original wooden building which was destroyed by fire. It was restored and renovated in 2024 by Chrofi Architects.

  2. Deco was an excellent choice for a surf life saving club. Imagine what damage happened to the original wood by sand, sea, salt and surf boards.. even fire.
