Balmain East, Propellar Park

A view of Mort Bay from Propellar Park, in the inner west suburb of Balmain East. The bay was named after industrialist and entrepreneur Thomas Sutcliffe Mort, who established Australia’s first major private dry dock along its foreshore in 1855. The park has large, historic ship propellers displayed along the shore as an acknowledgement of the area's ship building past.
