Arncliffe Railway Station, sunrise

Arncliffe railway station is on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra LineWith Daylight Saving extended to the end of March now, this gave me opportunities to witness some beautiful sunrises on the way to work. This is the railway station a couple of days ago, just before 7am. You can see what the station looks like in the afternoon here. Tomorrow night, an international event called Earth Hour at 8.30pm raises awareness of the need to take action on climate change. More about that tomorrow.

  4. Nice early morning shot - I did not realise Australia had daylight saving though I suppose no reason why not ...

Arncliffe in Yorkshire, England was the original setting for the TV series Emmerdale - not sure if you get that series in Australia.

  6. Thanks Petrus. That's a really interesting fact about Arncliffe in Yorkshire. Yes, we do get Emmerdale on one of the pay tv channels in Australia and I have seen a few episodes, so I know it's a lot like our soapies Neighbours and Home & Away. I need to find out a bit more about that now. Cheers.

  12. Some of our stations are quaint, Jim. This would be one of them. I think I will be pleased when DS ceases next weekend. Not keen on this going to work in the dark lark.
