Sydney Olympic Park, The Sprinter

The Sprinter is a metallic sculpture in front of the Sydney SAthletic Centre at the corner of Dawn Fraser Avenue and Edwin Flack Avenue at Sydney Olympic Park, in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. It was originally installed in 1998, on top of Sydney Tower with two other figures for the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2000. The sprinter was relocated here in 2002, while the other two sculptures, a gymnast and a Paralympic basketballer, were relocated to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.
