Bondi Icebergs Swimming Club
The Bondi Icebergs Swimming Club is located above the swimming pools at the southern end of Bondi Beach. The Bondi Icebergs Winter Swimming Club was founded in 1929 by a group of committed local Bondi lifesavers who wanted to to maintain their fitness during the winter months. The club moved from a tin shed to new premises in 1960. The current building which opened in 2002 is the only licensed winter swimming club in the world and features bars and restaurants.

...and many New Zealanders are still heading to Bondi. ;)

ReplyDeleteGood old Bondi. My daughter and partner live there. It hasn't changed that much over the years.
ReplyDeleteEven when I understand the reason for its existence, it looks funny to have a swimming pool right beside the ocean. But it does make for a great photo.
