  1. I haven't done my post yet for SWF, I do like this one though-it must be odd having Christmas in the heat. Nice tree though, thanks for sharing:)

  4. Now this would have to be a different Counciil from City of Sydney. Not sure about down your way, but in here we seem to have spent more thought in our decorations this year. More thought AND more money.

The tree brings out the glorious blue in the sky, Jim. Or the other way around ...

  5. Jane, it's not odd for us, having Christmas in the heat because we've always had Christmas at summer time. :) It's only a bit odd to me when people try to emulate so many northern hemisphere winter traditions in the middle of our summer.

Julie, I agree, the City of Sydney decorations are great this year and some of the other local councils need to do some work to catch up. I hadn't seen a Christmas tree at the beach before and thought some of our overseas blog visitors might find it curious.

  18. Its pretty and in a lovely setting but the cynic in me wonders how long before its vandalised. Is there security, the Hyde Park one has a full time security guard (who has a tendency to get in the way when you are trying to take a photo).

  19. Not sure about security for this tree Ann, but I have noticed the security guard in Hyde Park at night this year. It's sad to think that we need to have security to protect Christmas decorations these days.

For the first time in many years we've had about half a meter of snow yesterday. We're hoping for a white Christmas ...

  27. Very beautiful tree! My first thought "so odd to see a Christmas tree by the beach" ..... here in Drammen (Norway) we're having 14 degrees below zero! It's freezing cold! Brrrr
But Christmas is comeing all over the world, and don't bother weather it's warm or cold.
    Happy Holidays!

  28. Thanks for the Christmas picture! It really captures the feeling of Christmas in the Summer... That's something that I am not used to! We often have clear blue skies on Christmas in California but they are cold blue skies!...
    Thanks,
    Keith
