  1. As it is snowing heavily outside right now, These photos have given me a little bit of sunshine and warmth. Thank you!

  2. You range far and wide, Jim. I am in a much more contained area!

It is a city that is built around water, isn't it. I know where this is, but had no idea that it existed - if you know what I mean.

  3. Yeah I do Julie. I often think the same thing when I see some of your inner city suburb photos.

  4. Nice and pastel, peaceful and warm. Unlike the snow I see outside!

  5. I must re-iterate Julie's comment. When I lived in Sydney, I did not visit Monterey and was unaware of these waterways! Great shots!

  15. Lovely to se the beautiful colour of the water on the first photo. Here in Sweden it´s snowing. I have been waiting on this. Now we are going to have a white Christmas. Have a nice day.

  17. NatureFootstep, there are usually plenty around but for some reason I didn't see any at this time of day. A couple of weeks ago, I featured some shots from some nearby ponds at Rockdale and they were filled with many ducks and water birds.

  18. The pond's name reminds me of the song by Simon & Garfunkel...

  19. kRiZ cPEc, Scarborough Park was named for the English coastal town of Scarborough in North Yorkshire. The song Scarborough Fair was about the market that was in that town, so there is a link.

  20. These are beautiful shots.

I grew up in the area, but it's not a place to kayak people. These are storm canals and water run-off systems from gardens (hence the water despite the drought) and are only a few feet deep at any given time, and mostly filled with rubbish from careless idiots.

I love Scarborough Park, don't get me wrong, but your talents as a photographer are quite extraordinary.

  21. Thanks Amy. Many of the world's most beautiful waterways haven't been spared by some sort of pollution caused by humans.
