Rockdale, Bicentennial Park, pond

I was driving past Bicentennial Park at Rockdale last week and noticed that these algal blooms have covered a large proportion of the ponds here. The unusual green cover looks picturesque but I don't believe that it would be particularly good for the ponds and wildlife in the area.

  13. It certainly looks good, but I'm sure it's not welcome. Except that I read they can now make Green Oil out of algae!

  26. In Borneo, we got some of these algea to feed our ducks.

Mum wasn't organic or anything, she just wanted to keep her cost low.

  27. No it is not good for the pond - hope all work out well before everything will die in the pond.
