A view of Pier 9 at Walsh Bay in the inner city suburb of Millers Point. The Walsh Bay wharves were originally part of Sydney's port facilities but have now been converted into theatres, offices, hotels, apartments, restaurants, cafes and shops. This building on Piers 8/9 is used for office space. There's a glimpse of Blues Point Tower in this shot, which is the notorious apartment block at McMahons Point, across Sydney Harbour.
its like a mall. everything for such a wonderful place :)

ReplyDeleteLovely composition...draws the eyes right out across that blue water! Looks like a fun place to visit!
ReplyDeletelovely place !!
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting for me because I only saw this area when it still operated as a rather unglamorous port! That pier looks so good reaching out into the water with views all round for diners!

ReplyDeleteThis entire area is totally gorgeous, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is Julie. I'm sure there are many different angles to cover and hidden treasures to discover.
ReplyDeleteI love the angle of this shot. Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteAt the first moment I thought, it looks like a bath house. Such one we had beginning the last century here in Europe...:-)

ReplyDeleteGood to see they have been recycled. I think that may have been where we landed when we migrated to australia in 1949.
ReplyDeletevery beautiful place
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wharf!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the wharf buildings in my home town of Hobart! Looks like I'll have to add this to my list for when I come to Sydney in November.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely photo -- beautiful water view.
ReplyDeleteBut I am intrigued by the "notorious" reference and must look that up. Everything is not perfect in your beautiful city? ;>)
Thanks for stopping by over at my site :-)
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt and a friend of mine lives in OZ and I would love to come visit and check out all the beautiful building you have.
The conversion seems like a great use of space to me!
ReplyDeleteThe offices must have a great view :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to have an office!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and so blue sky!:-)
ReplyDeleteSallie, Blues Point Tower has been a controversial development since it was built in the early 1960s because it is so inconsistent with its surrounding buildings and cityscape. It sits right on Sydney Harbour and was designed to take advantage of the the view of the full stretch of the Harbour Bridge framing the Opera House beneath. However, it ruins views from so many other places and is regarded by many as the ugliest building in Sydney.
ReplyDeleteWould love to live there!
ReplyDeleteI am learning so much since I stumbled onto your blog, and yet I can't get enough> I could soak up these pictures day and night. have to force myself to take care of business instead of dreaming about Australia all day. Please don't ever burst my bubble, keep feeding the dream. *sigh*
ReplyDeletegreat shot :)
ReplyDeletethanks for the info. on Blues Point Tower. I'd feel guilty living there, no matter how good the view was!
