My great uncle was a foreman in the workshop in Middlesbrough for Dorman Long before the bridge was shipped to Sydney. My (90 yr old) mother remembers being taken as a child to see the mock up at Dorman Long's works in 1932 when they celebrated the erection in Sydney. She never imagined ever seeing the bridge in situ. But fate intervened and she saw it in 1960 on her way home from Australia with her RAF husband after a posting in South Australia. Now by another coincidence, she has a granddaughter who was married in front of the bridge, and a true blue Australian granddaughter.
What does the Slik tripod weigh? And what are its packed dimensions? My current tripod weights about 1.2kg and is about 1m in packed length. This is too much to take to France in September, but I dont want a gorilla as they are beyond my level of patience.
Ann, the Vivid Sydney festival is over for this year. These shots were taken around the same time as the festival but don't feature the famous light projections.
