Millers Point and Barangaroo

This view of the inner city suburbs of Millers Point and Barangaroo is from a ferry on Sydney Harbour. Moore's Wharf and the Operational Headquarters of the Sydney Ports Corporation in the foreground and the Palisade Hotel on the horizon are in Millers Point. The Harbour Control Tower and the city's former port facilities, which are soon to be redeveloped, were formerly part of Millers Point but are now part of a new suburb known as Barangaroo.

  8. Rosa, you can't climb the tower to enjoy the view at the moment but I think once they complete the redevelopment at Barangaroo they should consider keeping it as a tourist attraction.

  13. They should NOT pull down that tower, but keep it for blogers to go up and take photos. No doubt a small fee would change hands.

  15. Bruce, I wouldn't mind paying a small fee for the privilege of that view. I hope they keep it too.

  36. Great shot of that harbor under the clear blue sky.

  37. Ann, that's exactly what a Harbour Control Tower is used for. It was needed here when Sydney's main port was located at Barangaroo and all the ships and boats still used the wharves around the harbour at Millers Point and Pyrmont.
