Darling Harbour, The SubWharfyen

The SubWharfyen is a sculpture located on the end of piers 8 & 9 of Sydney Wharf, on Darling Harbour at Pyrmont. This stainless steel sculpture, created by Braddon Snape in 2008, depicts the relationship between people and the sea. Barangaroo, is the area on the opposite side of Darling Harbour that is currently under construction, on the foreshore of the Sydney Central Business District.

  7. That is an interesting sculpture! Not sure how it shows the sea and its relationship to people, but I am not too good with symbolism like that. I mostly just like or not like, on a gut level!

  19. Red Nomad OZ, a lot of contemporary artwork seems to have unusual titles. I've featured a couple of other strangely named artworks this week. You sometimes have to have a second look at the name, to be sure.
