Sydney Wharf, Sydney skyline

Sydney Wharf and the Sydney skyline viewed from Pyrmont Bay. The warehouses on the wharf, which were once part of Sydney's port facilities, have been converted to flats, restaurants and a marina on the bay. A ferry can be seen leaving Darling Harbour, close to King Street Wharf. The Macquarie Bank building that I featured yesterday is in the background and the MLC Centre and Sydney Tower are the tall buildings, further in the distance.

  1. It is fascinating to see the evolution of the Sydney waterfront since I last visited in 2003. I like the new MacQuarrie addition.

  4. It is an exciting peninsula from which to view the city, is Pyrmont. You know it is all hubble and bubble, yet from Pyrmont all is silent.

  5. The waterfront has changed a great deal since I was there in 1982 but it is still beautiful.

  6. Kay, the waterfront has most certainly changed since the 1980s.

Jack, even since the early 2000s, this part of the city has changed a lot.

  8. I like those old grey wharf buildings.

You should post the "art" even if just as an example of how ridiculous it can get. Those laneways are always rather strange.

  9. PS. (really should think before I write) the bunny was only up for opening weekend as part of the Live Green House or whatever its called, in Hyde Park. I caught it on Thursday or Friday before when they were building it.

  10. Thanks Ann. No wonder I hadn't seen it. Maybe I should reconsider posting my odd laneway art.

  20. Great photo. It will be a shame when the Barangaroo monstrosity destroys that nice view.

  21. James, the Barangaroo plans certainly do look worrying.
