Pitt Street Mall, benches

The recently refurbished Pitt Street Mall features collections of these odd looking benches in various shapes and sizes. The middle of the night is the only time when you're likely to see the pedestrian mall or benches as empty as this, in the centre of the city.

    They remind me of classroom furniture/chairs! Interesting! I can imagine it does look quite different with no people around! Great shot as always, Jim!

    I kind of like them. First, it is good that they are so liberal with seating opportunities. Second, they are varied, not standard blah. Nice.

    It looks interesting...but...lots of elderly people like a support at their back when having a little rest. I have noticed that designers are sometimes, actually lots of times, oblivious of practicality. I have noticed this with many "looking good" kitchen gadgets.

    Most interesting Jim -- and thank you for staying up late (or getting up very early) to take the photo -- I'm guessing you do that pretty often as I've wondered before how you manage to get some of your marvelous shots without crowds in the way!

    I like outdoor shopping malls so much better than the big box indoor ones.
