Liverpool, shop

This shopfront and residential building is located on Scott Street, in the south western suburb of Liverpool. It was originally built in 1875 but was restored and refurbished in 2002. It currently houses a Dental Surgery and Chiropractic Practice.

  1. What a terrific building. It looks quite tropical, doesn't it? Sort of what I might have expected in colonial-era Singapore.

  3. Hels, it does look quite tropical. The sort of thing you might see in Far North Queensland.

  5. Reminds me of a funny story.. My wife made an appointment at a new dentist. She was unaware the building also housed a chiropractor clinic which shared the reception with the dentist. At the allotted time a man in a white coat called her name and she was duly ushered into the appointment room and was asked to lay on the bed. She thought that was a srange way to check her teeth and she and the consultant laughed when they realized there was a corresponding booking for with the chiropractor with a lady bearing the same Christian name.

  6. Julie, that's exactly why I described it as restored and refurbished. ;)

  8. What a quaint-looking building! There's something vaguely Asian about it.

    SEEING RED

A man who was out of his head
Was claiming he always saw red.
    He saw it all day,
    At work and at play,
And saw it at night while in bed.
