Haberfield, shops

This building is located on the corner of Ramsay Street and Dalhousie Street in the inner west suburb of Haberfield. The suburb has many houses and shops built in the Federation style of architecture. This building originally featured a number of shopfronts with residences above. It now houses the Dolcisimmo Italian Restaurant, a Pizzeria and a Cafe/Gelateria.

  1. Again I love the architecture, but find the colour awful. Did pink become a heritage colour or something?

  6. Hels, interesting point. I wish they had restored the original brickwork rather than painted over it. It looks better on the two sections that weren't painted over.

  13. I have not been to Haberfield which is a sad omission because I understand a lot of the suburb is heritage listed so would be interesting.

  16. Emille, this architecture is from the period around the Federation of Australia in 1901. The styles were similar to Edwardian architecture overseas with elements of Queen Ann or Shingle style architecture.
