Funny how that new building (1 Bligh St?) is so short. The planners were going for a dip in the skyline, but what a dip (possibly a nod to the old tank stream?)! But seems a waste of good city space.
Ann, that building is triangular or wedge shaped so it just gives the impression it's quite thin from that angle.
Emma, it's not that short. I think it's just because it is so far back from the quay and has no other tall buildings in front. It seems to be as tall as surrounding buildings when you're up close.
Love it!

Love Circular Quay Jim, such a great outlook when having coffee or a meal. Nicely shown with the city skyline in the background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image of a beautiful city.
ReplyDeletegood shot of the skyline!

ReplyDeleteAbout the only thing that blue wedge building is good for is reflections.
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture!
ReplyDeletethat is a razor sharp building, one room width?
ReplyDeleteWhat an impressive place.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite places to be!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing skyline!
ReplyDeleteWaterworld.
ReplyDeleteThe crisp blue sky makes the skyline and reflection look even more spectacular, Jim.

Beautiful blue sky! I like the perspective. What is that tall narrow building (?) on the right? I've never seen such a narrow skyscraper before.
ReplyDeleteI could hang out there all day!
ReplyDeletePat, that skyscraper is called Gateway Plaza and it's the angle that makes it look so narrow.
