Tank Stream Way, street art

Tank Stream Way is a city laneway that hosts temporary artwork for the annual Laneway Art as part of the Art and About Sydney festivalThe back of the Thai Airways International building, including windows and doors, has been used as a canvas for a piece of street art or graffiti art by Barry McGee which is described as "Untitled", but I believe it says "aMAzE".

  1. I don't like this "art" in the streets. It's my opinion

  2. Is that what it says, doesn't amaze me, I'm afraid.

  3. Fabio and Ann, there's some graffiti that does look quite amazing but I have to agree that this doesn't really qualify as art to me either.

  4. Graffiti can be a beautiful form art, it brightens up the vibrancy of a city (provided it's done with a good taste and perhaps not just everywhere)

  5. Another vote of no confidence for this one from me. Many of these pieces of street art/graffiti now look so similar to each other in terms of colour and style of (usually illegible) text.
    Good photo, though :-)

  9. Nicely shot Jim, but it's a bit too 'same old' for me also.

  11. Some graffitis can be real good and artistic, this one is not so my cup of tea !

  12. I'm completely incapable of reading graffiti lettering, so thanks for figuring it out. I'm always amazed with how artists have the ability to figure out and maintain the scale and proportions they intend on such a large canvas. Thanks for participating in Monday Mural. It's fun to see what is happening in other places.

  13. It does say "amaze" but it wouldn't be easy for a passing motorist to figure out.
    Interesting photo, Jim.
