Bronte, Waverley Cemetery

Waverley Cemetery is located along a cliff, in the eastern suburb of Bronte. This angel monument on one of the graves is impressive but so is the spectacular backdrop of North Bondi and the Pacific Ocean.

  4. If I die in Sydney, bury me next to the Bronte beach. I want to spend Eternity watching the water.

By the way, is Bronte cemetery still open for business? Plots must have been very desirable.

  5. Hels, I believe so from what I gather from their website. I imagine that space would be limited so plots here would be at a premium.

  10. Beautiful memorial. There is something about angel memorials. The thought of a dearly departed in the care of an angel makes the burden a bit easier to bare.

  16. Great picture, and I like the moon in the background...
Lovely views seem to be a common factor with so many cemeteries!

  17. The angles you've posted look like sisters. And I swear they have cousins in a nearby cemetery here in Oakland. Couldn't possibly be the same sculptor, could it?

  18. Oakland Daily Photo, I don't know the origins of the sculptures but I suppose it is quite possible that they came from the same sculptor or same place.

  20. Yes, I have that one in the top drawer too, Jim, but sans the lovely backdrop that you have included.

I have an idea for an overview of the entire joint, but have to wait for this dangblasted weather to roll on out. Looking at the SMH weather map, March is pretty much a disaster. Have to get used to grey grey grey ...
