Chippendale, Windwatcher

"Windwatcher" is a kinetic sculpture at the Central Park redevelopment site, in the inner west suburb of Chippendale. This 10.5 metre long windsock, created by Mikala Dwyer, features a pattern of concentric circles. It uses the 52 metre tall chimney stack of the heritage-listed, former Irving Street Breweryas a plinth.

  4. I like that, nice take on a wind sock. Is it staying there?

The flags are an institution at Womadelaide. They change each year, some old, some new. There are different stands of flags throughout the site.

  5. Ann, I'm not sure if this one will be permanent. A newspaper article said that there will be a number of temporary art installations during the redevelopment.
