Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club

The Cronulla Surf Club is at Cronulla Beach, in the southern suburb of Cronulla. The Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club was one of the first surf life saving clubs established in Australia in 1907. It had very humble beginnings in a tram carriage but this club house in the art deco architectural style was built in 1940 on the beachfront.

  3. Love the megaphone perched on the roof. What fun to get hold of that little beauty and 'vent' ...

  4. We have some classic art deco buildings nearby, too. Fascinating to see the styles of the period that come, go, come back again. Nice image.

  5. Great architecture and still looking good today. But it doesn't look remotely like a surf club :)

  9. Hi there - I really like the Art Deco style - I wonder what people will be saying about current trends in a few years??

  10. Stewart, yes I do wonder sometimes whether current styles will be as enduring or as popular.
