Anzac War Memorial, Pool of Reflection

The view across the Pool of Reflection, with its rows of poplars alongside, to the Anzac War Memorial in Hyde Park South. Today is Anzac Day, which commemorates those who have served and died in wars. ANZAC stands for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and the date marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Anzac forces during the First World War. This memorial, like many across Australia, will be hosting Anzac Day commemorations today.

  1. Your Memorial is a good and central location, reminding people every day they pass it.

  2. An important piece of memorial architecture.

I am taking my dad out for lunch today - there aren't too many from his WW2 army unit still marching.
