Carss Park, mural

This mural has been painted on the wall of a liquor shop beside a newsagent, in the southern suburb of Carss Park. It shows a historic scene from the area, from a century ago. An interesting feature is the bench with the words "Carss Park" on it, which extends out from the wall as a real sandstone bench.

  1. I don't like graffiti that ruins public spaces, but murals look fantastic.

  2. The image tells so much about how the area looks 100 years ago. Its amazing to see it side by side with the present day. Great capture!

  21. As you probably know by now, I really like murals with local historical references. Additionally, the Car Park entrance reminds me of my early dreams where perspective and shrinking space converge. Not a comfortable feeling, but fascinating to see it depicted. Thanks, Jim, for participating in Monday Mural.
