A former grain silo has been redeveloped and forms part of an office building in the inner city suburb of Alexandria. It is part of the Alexandria Creative Park, a business precinct on Bourke Road, which has fused heritage architecture from a former industrial estate with contemporary buildings. The site was once home to the James Barnes linseed oil factory.

ReplyDeleteHi there - nice picture. I once stayed in a hotel that was built into old grain silos! Each room had a curved outer wall and was almost a triangle!

Stewart, there are a couple of apartment buildings around Sydney that have been built in old grain silos but this is the first office building I have seen.

ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that they're utilizing these old buildings and not just knocking them down. It could be fun working in a building that looks a little like a segment of an octopus tentacle hey Jim.
