Campbells Cove, Vivid Sydney

These artworks are located beside Campbells Cove at The Rocks, for the Vivid Sydney Festival, which is the fstival of light, music and ideas. "Water Droplet" is comprised of three double skinned shells to form a lantern and LED lights within the cavity illuminate it to produce a blue glow. The interior contains seating and suspended wind chimes, with original music playing called "Liquid Tension". It was created by Destiny Paris, Ying ChingHui, Akil Lau, Charlee Dare and Ramy Sorial. "The Bibigloo" is a plastic art igloo, made up of 250 red, 20-litre, recycled polyethelyne jerry-cans. It was designed by a self-taught artist called BIBI whose installations are playful and ironic, using everyday objects and light.

  1. What an amazing event Jim, is it held at around the same time every year? If so my yearly trip to Sydney might have to be planned around this time.

  4. How on earth did you get these without people. I also couldn't get the colour right in the top one. Either bleached out or went purple.

  6. Ann, I was there close to midnight when the crowds had died down but I still had to wait around a while. There's were a few people sitting inside the water droplet though and you can see the silhouettes of their backs.
