Leichhardt, Pioneers Memorial Park
The Norton Street entrance of the Pioneers Memorial Park, located in the inner west suburb of Leichhardt. The site was formerly Balmain Cemetery and became a place of recreation in 1941, when it was renamed to pay tribute to the pioneers of the district. The war memorial and a rotunda can be seen from here.

A cemetery becomes a playground? I find it strange. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday, Jim.
It certainly is unusual. I have visited this place a few times but had no idea of the history until I did some research for this post.
