The Lion Gate leads to the Lion Gate Lodge, originally the home of the Head Gardener in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The lodge is now a function centre and it was renamed in 1979 after the two iron statues, "The Lion" and "The Lioness", which guard this gate. They were presented to the Botanic Gardens in 1912 by the executors of the estate of Edward Sanders and restored in 1989.
Imagine a function in Lion Gate Lodge. I think it would be very beautiful, going past the lions, the wrought iron gates and the gorgeous gardens.
