This viaduct cuts through the middle of Wentworth Park, in inner west suburb of Glebe. It was built in 1922 to carry the freight railway line between Darling Harbour and Rozelle Goods Yards. It now carries the Metro Light Rail line, a tram between Central railway station and Lilyfield. Sydney Tower and the MLC Centre can be seen in the distance.
Nice bridge...

I recently discovered your blog and I enjoy it a lot! Amazing pictures and nice stories behind them!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you caught the two modern buildings while featuring an historically important construction.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andrew. That's exactly what I was trying to capture. :)
DeleteI have not noticed they gentle curve before, nice.
ReplyDeleteThe imposing arches & cool brickwork almost detract from the tower!!
ReplyDeleteLove your angle on this one Jim.
ReplyDeleteIt's a graceful structure.
ReplyDeletelove the arches! we have a Glebe road right around the corner from me, and The Glebe, which is a nursing home :)
ReplyDeleteI am always interested to hear about places around the world with the same name as Sydney suburbs.
DeleteGood one, Jim!
ReplyDelete«Louis» likes the historical detail - it gives context to the photo.
