This heritage listed property is located on Lower Fort Street, in the inner city suburb of Millers Point. These townhouses were built in the 1830s in the Regency architectural style, based on the London model of three storeys with basements. A vintage, cast iron, red painted pillar post box is located on the footpath outside.

ReplyDeleteThere are a few of these in this inner city area and I believe this one is not just decorative but still functions as a post office box.

ReplyDeleteThe ground floor doesn't seem to fit in as well, especially if it was modelling itself on Regency taste. The shutters and windows are different from the other storeys, and the lower wall looks different (I don't mean the colour).
I love townhouses. We have some good examples in Bunbury.
