Darlinghurst, mural

"We Are Here" is a 15-metre-high, 75-metre-long mural in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. It is on the rear façade of the old Oxford Street Municipal Chambers along Foley Street, between Palmer Street and Crown Street. This giant artwork which was created by Australian street artists, illustrators and photographers, depicts some of the city’s most significant people and events using paint, collage, drawing, paste-ups, stencils, neon lights and photography. This part of the mural focuses on the theme of eliminating racism and homophobia.

    1. Yes, I did post the pink triangle for theme day yesterday and thought this would be a good time to feature this mural, since it was was along the same theme.

  5. I'm astonished at the dimensions of this mural. This one shows that street art can be a political act. Good one, Jim. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
