Customs Square, Snailovation

This is one of two giant yellow snail sculptures that were recently in Customs Square, outside Customs House at Circular Quay. Snailovation are brightly coloured snails that were created by the Cracking Art Group. They were installed on city streets, in parks and squares as part of Art and About Sydney, a festival of art in unusual places which ran until last week.

  3. That's a very bright yellow and looks TOO clean to me - maybe that's just because it is still new

  11. Very cute snail! The whorled shell makes them so much more appealing than the slugs that eat my plants. Are snails a pest in Australia? We had hundreds in our garden in San Diego.

    1. They certainly are a pest in our gardens too. Luckily they're not as big as these ones. ;)
