This bronze statue of Lieutenant General Sir Richard Bourke (1777–1855) stands outside the State Library of New South Wales, off Macquarie Street. He was an Irish-born Governor of New South Wales from 1831-1837. The sculpture on a granite plinth was created by Edward Hodges Baily and unveiled in 1842.
