Martin Place, Taronga Wild! Rhinos

"Taronga Wild! Rhinos" is an art event featuring a huge herd of painted rhino sculptures installed around Sydney from February to April. This mass public art exhibition helps raise awareness and valuable funds for Taronga Zoo’s Black Rhino breeding program and conservation projects. This peculiar rhino is located in the mall at Martin Place, off Elizabeth Street. "Camouflage" was created by Hans Hulsbosch and plays with the idea of disguising the rhino as a zebra to hide from the poachers.

    1. It was a bit perplexing for the kids who saw it and even some of the adults who were perfectly sober. :)

  5. All those stripes become like an optical illusion. Stunning public art. The Melbourne Zoo raised awareness and money in this way with their colourful elephants.

  8. Brilliant!
I enjoyed the Elephants who visited Melbourne when I was living there. I think these sculptures get everyone's attention and that can only be a good thing.
Waving from a sunny but somewhat chillier Bonnie Scotland!
