Kyeemagh, baths

Kyeemagh Baths are located on the shore of Botany Bay, in the southern suburb of Kyeemagh. There are a number of these netted swimming enclosures along Lady Robinson Beach including ones at Brighton-Le-Sands, Ramsgate and Sandringham. In the distance are the airport runways at Mascot that jut into the bay and the cranes from Port Botany.

  1. Just looked up Kyeemagh Baths Jim and they sound very much like the shallow beach at Hillary's Marina.. excellent spot for families with young kids.

  3. That water does look most inviting. Interesting that they should call this beach a bath.

    1. The netted swimming enclosures are known as baths but most people would say they are going to the beach.

  5. It would be quite an unusual experience bathing in the sea and watching the jumbos landing not too far away.

  7. DO the nets really keep things out? Or does it just make people feel safer?

    1. They would keep sharks out although I'm not sure that many sharks would come into the bay.

  11. 'bathing' in the sea sounds a quaintly old fashioned term to my ears.
