Vaucluse House, stable

This heritage building is located on the Vaucluse House estate, which gave its name to the eastern suburb of Vaucluse. It was originally used as the stable for Vaucluse House, a mansion designed by Henry Browne Hayes and built in 1803 in the the Gothic Revival style. This two storey sanstone building with stalls, carriage and tack rooms and fruit storage areas was designed by George Cookney and built in 1829.

  7. I wish we had colonial architecture in Melbourne, like Sydney and Hobart have. Great architectural history!
