Customs Square, Easter, advertisement

This Hot Cross Bun House creation was located in Customs Square as an Easter promotion for Stayz, a holiday accommodation website. The walls of the house are made of hot cross buns, spiced sweet buns made with currants or sultanas and marked with a cross on the top, which are popular Easter treats in Australia. Even the smoke coming out of the chimney, filled the square with an aroma that smelt like freshly baked hot cross buns. The promotional people were dressed as bakers and handed out flyers and hot cross buns.

    1. Good to know since I didn't think you had the tradition of hot cross buns in America. We see so much of American culture on television and movie screens but strangely I have not seen much about Easter or anything about hot cross buns.

    1. Gerald, it happens earlier and earlier every year. There have been reports of them going on sale straight after Christmas.

  3. Tradition here is to eat hot-cross-buns here on Good Friday. If one can smell the aroma of the hot-cross-buns, I would be drooling. The house is cute. Thanks for the visit and comment on my Signs post. Interesting to know your word for dumster. I understand the 'bin', but not the 'skip' part. Google, here I come!
