Camperdown, University of Sydney, School of Physics

The main entrance to the Physics Building on the University of Sydney campus, in the inner city suburb of Camperdown. It was designed by Royston Keith Harris and Leslie Wilkinson and built in 1926 in the Inter-War Mediterranean architectural style. The Physics Building has housed the School of Physics since then.

  1. Very impressive entrance Jim.. Didn't expect to see a little balcony atop the door.

  2. Great entrance, and the post in the center appears to be an arrow pointing to the doorway.

    1. I tried to photograph it without the bollard in the way but it just wasn't possible.

  3. A very beautiful building for some smart folks! My nephew Brian's youngest daughter Brittany is going to study biomedical engineering at the U of Washington Seattle. She is very smart like my brother Ed. His youngest daughter Katie is a smart gal too. He got all the big brains in our phamily and passed it on to two more generations! It is always a great day to visit you and Mrs. Jim! Take care.

  5. I love the look, many eras of architecture combined into a big but not massive building. The columns are a nice touch!
