The Story Poles are an art installation in Kendrick Park along the northern shore of the Cooks River, in the southern suburb of Tempe. They were created by local students from Marrickville West and Dulwich Hill Primary Schools, as well as Marrickville and Dulwich Hill High Schools under the tutelage of a local Aboriginal artist.
In the past I might have thought the idea of story poles was a bit strange, till I saw the fabulous bollards in Geelong. Now I think poles can be absolutely artistic.

DeleteNice stark aboriginal influenced poles. I like them but wouldn't bring them in connection with murals but more as art pieces themselves.
