Ultimo, The Goods Line

This former railway bridge over Ultimo Street, is in the inner city suburb of Ultimo. It is part of "The Goods Line" a disused rail corridor from Central railway station from Railway Square through Ultimo to Darling Harbour. It is currently being redeveloped as a pedestrian and cycle network to create a new urban hub. The bridge has recently been restored and had this identifying sign attached.

  1. Nice to see they are doing that instead of demolishing them like they do here.

  2. I think it's nice that they have preserved it and use it as an attraction. Nice picture!

  4. That's a nice looking font for this sign.
Old rail tracks make great paths.

  5. We have a similar one called the belt line - but this is a much nicer looking sign.

  8. Abandoned rail lines have such fine potential uses. In New York City, the High Line has become one of the city's favorite tourist destinations. On Cape Cod, the old lines have been turned into bike trails.

  9. Urban light rail has been converted into useful space, gardens, and bike paths. What a perfect name for this one.

  10. What a neat looking bridge. It's great they are restoring it and using it to help pedestrians transverse the roads.
