Newtown, fire station

Newtown Fire Station is located along Australia Street, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. It was designed by Spain, Cosh and Minnett and built in 1913 in the Federation Free architectural style. In 1984, the building was altered when a third storey was demolished.

  2. I need to do some research on the Federation Free style of architecture. It seems that you have a good bit in your area. This is a nice structure. I like the red Fire Station sign up top.

  6. Buildings used to be functional and look good and were built well. A lovely building.

  7. I really like this one. The style reminds me of a fire station here built in 1897 that's been since converted into a house.
