Rozelle, shops

These shops are located on the corner of Darling Street and Belmore Street, in the inner west suburb of Rozelle. The building was built in 1897 and is one of the few remaining shopfronts with a veranda and awning above the footpath.

  1. From at least one of the signs, it would seem to be that a newspaper or two has offices there as well.

    1. William, that's a newsagency which predominantly sells newspapers and magazines. Every suburb in Sydney has one or more of these, although they are starting to become endangered species in some places these days.

  2. Love the look of this building with it wrap around porch which protects those on the sidewalk below. Like your photo.

  3. I think of this architecture as very "Sydney". I remember lots of buildings like this when I was there.
