North Sydney, Mount Street

This entrance to North Sydney railway station is located on the corner of Pacific Highway and Mount Street, in the north shore suburb of North Sydney. On weekdays this is a very busy commercial precinct but on a Sunday this entrance is locked and there aren't many people around. The heritage listed  building in the foreground on the right is the former Bank of New South Wales built in 1931 in the Inter-War Free Classical architectural style.

  1. I note that the bank's now an HSBC. We have them here as well.

    1. There are a lot less Australian bank branches around these days and more Australian-incorporated foreign bank branches.

  7. Very nice looking. I agree with TexWisGirl that the trees add to the charm of the area.
