Queen's Square, Prince Albert

The statue of Prince Albert is located in Queen's Square, north of Hyde Park at the intersection of Macquarie Street and St James Road. It was unveiled in 1866 and stands on the eastern side of Macquarie Street, facing the statue of his wife Queen Victoria on the western side.

  4. I have stood under this statue! A tour bus guide told us how heartbroken Queen Victoris was at Prince Albert's passing and that she wore black the rest of her life.

  10. Nicely captured. I find local monuments to be interesting subjects. I am always curious to read about the purpose of the monument when there is a description somewhere on the base. Have a blessed day.
