Bexley, School of Arts

The School of Arts is located along Forest Road, in the southern suburb of Bexley. This heritage listed building was built in 1924 in the Inter War architectural style, with California Bungalow features which resemble houses in this area. Alterations and additions to the building were made in 1935 to accommodate a baby health centre.

    2. Possibly- it would be a rarity here. We have a whole lot of Gothic styled buildings.

  2. It reminds me of a California Bungalow On Steroids. When my children were neonates, I _totally_ depended on the local baby health centre for advice, support and nursing care.

  3. I am a fan of symmetry and this little structure is perfectly executed. There is just something about the materials and the design of this little structure that are timeless.

  5. When I first saw it, I thought it would be a Post Office. I'm glad that it's being cared for.

  7. Hmmm... it definitely screams the era it was built in. I like the California Bungalow style.
